Urbandale tech company considers an expansion

The Urbandale City Council will be asked during its meeting today to support the 8-year-old company’s application for up to $37,500 in direct financial assistance through the state’s High Quality Jobs program. Energy Control Technologies currently employs 18 people at 2751 99th St. Plans are for an estimated $506,000 project to move into larger space on Justin Drive and hire 10 people over three years at an annual wage of $65,000 plus benefits, according to a report to the City Council. The investment includes leasing and equipping the new space as well as expenses for research and development. The city would provide $7,500 from its revolving loan fund.
