USDA Rural Development grants create jobs, agency says
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) rural development programs invested $534 million in loans and grants in Iowa that helped create or retain more than 1,600 jobs in fiscal year 2012, the USDA said yesterday.
Funds from the programs help modernize water systems, build clinics and hospitals, support renewable energy and ensure affordable housing for rural residents, the USDA said.
