Utility sends second crew to New York

MidAmerican Energy Co. said Tuesday it has doubled the number of employees who will assist with utility damage and power outages caused by Hurricane Sandy. A MidAmerican Energy crew of 12 linemen, a supervisor and design technician from service centers across the state will leave today for New York, where they will receive further instructions regarding areas in need of utility restoration work. On Oct. 27, a group of 116 utility workers, including 15 MidAmerican employees, departed to provide assistance. The crews are expected to be gone for up to two weeks.
