Variety charity gives Food Bank of Iowa $35,000
Variety – the Children’s Charity has donated $35,000 to Food Bank of Iowa to support its backpack and school pantry program. In Iowa, 1 in 6 children struggles with food insecurity. Within Food Bank of Iowa’s service area, 56,350 children are short on food. That can lead to development and learning problems. Both of Food Bank of Iowa’s childhood hunger programs are funded through Food Bank, with no cost to schools or the recipients.
