Variety – The Children’s Charity will grant more than $2.5 million to 91 children’s charities at its annual grant reception Sept. 29 at the Fred Maytag II Scout Center. The reception will start at 5 p.m., with check presentations to begin at 5:30 p.m. Each year, children’s charities from across the state of Iowa are invited to apply for grants to support programs that care for children. Applicants are reviewed for financial stability and interviewed by Variety’s board.
