Veridian will offer special loan services if debt talks fail
Veridian Credit Union will offer interest-free loans to members who face a delay in receiving federal payments, such as Social Security, in the event Congress does not increase the debt ceiling. The amount of the loan will be equal to the last direct deposit amount from the government and will be interest-free for up to 30 days, the Waterloo-based credit union said in a news release. Members will have the option of receiving the interest-free loan or extending their loan payments for 30 days; they will not be able to choose both. For more information, go to www.veridiancu.org.
