Approximately 1,000 exercise enthusiasts are expected to take part in the American Volkssport Convention June 18-26 in Des Moines. Volkssporting is a personal fitness and sports program offering non-competitive walking, biking, swimming, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and rowing. Hosted by the Greater Des Moines Volkssport Association through the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, the convention will include a June 24 public walking tour of downtown Des Moines and residential neighborhoods.
