Rebuilding Together Greater Des Moines and the Des Moines Neighborhood Resource Office have agreed to merge, the organizations announced yesterday.

The merged organization will retain the Rebuilding Together name. Rebuilding Together repairs and rehabilitates houses with volunteer labor, and the Neighborhood Resource Office provides educational leadership training and technical assistance programs to citizens of Des Moines and Polk County.

By merging, the companies will save a combined $130,000 per year in operational costs.

“It is truly a natural partnership,” said Christine Hensley, chairperson of the Rebuilding Together Greater Des Moines board, in a company news release.
