Walk to End Alzheimer’s raises over $287,000

124 wordsAll Latest News, Nonprofits and PhilanthropyOn Sept. 27, over 1,500 Central Iowans participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Principal Park in Des Moines. Walkers helped raise over $287,000 to fund the care, support and research programs of the Alzheimer’s Association. Fundraising continues through the end of the year. Team LCS, led by Aaron Brady and Erin Moeller, was this year’s top team with more than $58,000 raised, followed by Team Grand Living at $22,600 and Team Ireland Family at $14,600. Top individual fundraisers included Lora Williams, Mike Moyers and Sheryl Ireland. The event is part of the Alzheimer’s Association’s nationwide effort to raise awareness and support for more than 7 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease and the nearly 12 million caregivers who provide assistance.
