A group that opposes the Des Moines Water Works’ lawsuit has requested information about the utility’s rising legal costs, reports DesMoinesRegister.com. The Iowa Partnership for Clean Water said it submitted an open records request to Des Moines Water Works, asking for more information about its legal costs since the lawsuit was filed in March. The utility, which is suing three northwestern Iowa counties over rising nitrate levels in the Raccoon River, a source of Des Moines’ drinking water, will comply with the request.
