Water trails committee meets
The Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s water trails and greenways steering committee will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday at the MPO office, 420 Watson Powell Jr. Way. The MPO is working with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to come up with a plan to encourage use of area rivers and lakes for recreation, including improved access for kayaking and canoeing.
