Waterloo-Cedar Falls named one of top 10 job markets in 2018
A California job search market has named Waterloo-Cedar Falls as one of the top 10 job markets in the U.S. this year, the Des Moines Register reports. Zippia, based in San Mateo, Calif., reports it used data from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics to rank top job markets based on the rise in local wages and the unemployment rate. Waterloo-Cedar Falls is ranked ninth, just above Roanoke, Va., and reports an annual mean wage of $41,450. Iowa’s state unemployment reached just 2.7 percent in May.
