Waukee came in at No. 9 on a list of the country’s 10 fastest-growing suburbs compiled by real estate website Realtor.com. The city made the list based on its construction boom, home appreciation and population growth, according to a release. Waukee had the highest rate of construction of the 10 cities on the list. More than 55 percent of the homes listed through the first six months of this year in Dallas County were newly built. Economic growth including projects like The Palms Theatres & IMAX and the community’s first Starbucks were also mentioned.
