The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the city of West Des Moines, has released the results of their 2025 Business Survey. Gathering input from local businesses and community members, the survey was conducted in May to better understand the needs, challenges and opportunities facing the local business community.
Main themes from the survey included:
- Workforce challenges
- Infrastructure needs
- Opportunities to strengthen partnerships between businesses and local government
“The feedback we received will be instrumental in guiding how we serve our members and the broader community,” Katherine Harrington, president and CEO of the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, said in a news release. “Our businesses are the heart of West Des Moines, and by collaborating with the city, we can ensure that the right resources, policies, and programs are in place to help them thrive. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected business community.”
The findings will be used to help shape future economic development policies and initiatives, enhance city services, and guide collaborative strategies that foster innovation, investment and quality of life throughout the city and community, the release said.
“This survey is an incredibly valuable tool that gives us real-time feedback directly from the business community,” Mayor Russ Trimble said in a news release. “It helps us understand their challenges, identify opportunities and prioritize actions that will make West Des Moines an even better place to grow a business.”
