Weitz among largest fastest-growing U.S. companies
The Weitz Co., with $1.4 billion in revenues last year, has earned the distinction of being among the top 20 fastest-growing companies in the United States based on total revenues and dollar-revenue growth.
The Des Moines-based construction company was among 24 Iowa companies listed on Inc. magazine’s Inc. 5000 list, which ranks the fastest-growing companies in the nation. The rankings are based on the percentage change in revenues over a three-year period.
Weitz, which was No. 4,551 in the overall rankings, was ranked No. 13 among the top 100 companies by revenues, and 18th in the top 100 by gross dollars of growth. The Greater Des Moines companies that made the Inc. 5000 list are:
·Advanced Technologies Group Inc., which ranked 3,627, with $12.9 million in 2007 revenues, an 88 percent increase from 2004.
·Geolearning Inc., which ranked 4,102, with $26.3 million in 2007 revenues, up 69 percent from 2004.
·LightEdge Solutions Inc., which ranked 3,736, with $25.9 million in 2007 revenues, up 83 percent from last year.
