The Wellmark Foundation has awarded 17 Iowa organizations Matching Assets to Community Health (MATCH) grants. Applicants were able to request up to $25,000 in grant funding that each organization matches at 50 percent. The projects are each aimed at helping individuals, families and communities achieve better health through built environment initiatives that encourage physical activity and/or access to and consumption of nutritious foods. Among the awards is a $25,000 grant to the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines for the Lauridsen Skatepark project in downtown Des Moines. To see a list of the grant awards, click here.
