The Wellmark Foundation announced it has awarded more than $1.37 million to 17 Iowa organizations through its Large Matching Assets to Community Health (MATCH) grants. The grant recipients were notified in May and had 16 weeks to secure the required match amount in order to receive their funds from the foundation. Each of the funded projects will help individuals, families and communities achieve better health through built environment initiatives that encourage physical activity. Among the projects receiving funds is the Urbandale All-Inclusive Playground Project, which received a $50,000 MATCH grant. To see the full list of grant recipients, click here.
