West Des Moines accountant Stephen Theilking has formally denied charges in a federal indictment that he falsified tax returns and set up employee retirement plans for multiple companies to use as tax shelters. Theilking allegedly established Employee Stock Ownership Plans for several small companies and then assisted the companies in using the ESOPs as a way to fraudulently lower their tax burden, according to the federal indictment, reports The Des Moines Register.
