The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce and Development Connection are continuing the process of developing a strategic plan heading into 2011.

The chamber board of directors held a meeting Sept. 17, and the Development Connection board members met Oct. 8 to share ideas toward developing a “New View” strategic plan.

Chamber and Development Connection President Chris Voggesser said the underlying concept of the work plan is a focus on membership excellence and a return on investment for being involved in the organizations.

“We are providing opportunities for our members to grow their network as well as the bottom line of their business,” Vogeesser said. “We have goals in place to grow existing industry and a targeted sector approach for business recruitment to promote economic growth within West Des Moines.”

The plan will be reviewed by the executive board on Nov. 8, and will be presented to the full chamber board for approval at the December board meeting.
