West Des Moines is triple-A in Standard & Poor’s book
Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services assigned its “AAA” long-term rating to West Des Moines’ series 2011A general obligation bonds and series 2011B bond refunding capital loan notes. At the same time, the ratings firm affirmed its “AAA” long-term rating and underlying rating on the city’s debt outstanding and a “AAA” issuer credit rating on the city. The outlook is stable. The ratings reflect Standard & Poor’s view that West Des Moines is an employment and residential center for Greater Des Moines and has a historically strong financial position, among other attributes.
