William Penn prepares to send supplies to Afghanistan
William Penn University’s College for Working Adults will send off hundreds of buckets of food, school supplies, notes and clothing to children in Afghanistan tomorrow.
Headed by university instructor Rob Elgin, volunteers and local businesses have donated materials in an effort to help military programs “win the hearts of Afghan citizens.” Volunteers will fill the buckets starting at 5:30 p.m. at William Penn’s West Des Moines location, 6000 Westown Parkway.
To volunteer, call 222-9949 Ext. 1348, or send an email to sherill.whisenand@cwa.wmpenn.edu.
