Wind energy could mean thousands of Iowa jobs

A new study by Iowa State University economist Dave Swenson estimated a continued boom in Iowa wind energy development could mean 483 to 6,424 new jobs a year as the state meets carbon-cutting goals. The exact number depends how aggressive companies are in a state that already leads the nation in percentage of power generated with wind turbines. The federal Clean Power Plan is pushing states to move away from fossil fuels to wind, solar and other energy sources. Read the full report online.
