Wine competition at DMACC judges best in state, region
Nearly 400 medals were awarded at the Fifth Annual Mid-American Wine Competition at the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Ankeny campus.
Professional wine judges from throughout the country judged the wines from 82 wineries in 14 Midwest states on July 8 through 10.
The Ackerman Winery of South Amana received the Dr. Richard Peterson Award, given to the wine judged as the best in the state.
