Written housing contracts up in February
The Des Moines Area Association of Realtors (DMAAR) today reported a 21 percent increase in home-sale contracts written in February, with 639 for the month.
The median sale price of a home in Des Moines was $130,000. The report said 417 homes were sold, which was ahead of both the previous month and the same period in 2010.
“The increase in written contracts over the last couple of months reflects our stable housing market, and we expect to see the number of closed transactions follow suit in March and April,” said DMAAR President Les Sulgrove in a press release.
