Youth Homes director to retire
Ron Stehl, executive director of Youth Homes of Mid-America and the Youth Homes of Mid-America Foundation, has announced his retirement effective June 1. He has led the Johnston-based organization, which offers programs ranging from a residential treatment campus to monitoring for first-time juvenile offenders, for the past 22 years. During that time, Stehl has worked with community organizations and businesses on successful fund-raising campaigns to build a school and living units and update the campus. “But most of all, I’ve enjoyed seeing, firsthand, troubled young people improve their lives through the Youth Homes of Mid-America programs and education, giving themselves a better future,” he said. The board has started a search committee to replace Stehl. Interested applicants can send information to: Youth Homes of Mid-America, 7085 N.W. Beaver Drive, P.O.
