YPC to honor Okland
The Young Professionals Connection (YPC) will hold its monthly happy hour tonight at 6 p.m. at Cattoors on Grand, 1306 Grand Ave., West Des Moines.
The group will honor the life of Ashley Okland, who was shot and killed in West Des Moines last week. Okland served on the YPC board in 2009 and 2010 and helped organize YPC athletics and the 2009 and 2010 Golden Circle Games.
Attendees will have the chance to donate to the Ashley Okland Memorial Fund. YPC’s Bowling for Kids’ Sake event scheduled for tonight has been canceled.
