Iowan and best-selling author Zach Wahls will give the keynote speech June 25 at the second annual Iowa Homeless Youth Center Achievement Tea at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Gardens. Wahls gained national attention in 2011 when his testimony in front of the Iowa Legislature went viral. Wahls spoke in opposition to an amendment against gay marriage. The event also will highlight volunteers and community partners who have made significant contributions to the homeless youth organization. The event is open to public.
