Grant applications are open for two Future Ready Iowa programs totaling $1.2 million in funding for workforce development and child care facility development, Gov. Kim Reynolds announced Wednesday. The Child Care Challenge Fund is designed to encourage regional and community projects that will increase child care slots in local communities by supporting the development, renovation or rehabilitation of child care facilities; applications must be submitted at www.IowaGrants.gov by Feb. 12. The Employer Innovation Fund can be used to support credit and noncredit programs or associated expenses to help Iowans complete job training and education; more information on the fund is available at www.futurereadyiowa.gov/innovation.
