1 in 5 Iowa small businesses anticipate coming employee layoffs, NFIB in Iowa reports

Twenty-two percent of Iowa small businesses surveyed by the National Federation of Independent Business anticipate having to lay off employees in the next six months, according to a new report released by NFIB in Iowa. Out of surveyed Iowa NFIB member businesses, 86% reported spending their entire Paycheck Protection Program loan and are ready to apply for loan forgiveness. One-third of business owners surveyed have applied for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan. If eligible, 44% of small business owners would apply or reapply for a second PPP loan.
