Des Moines-based Hawkeye Estates will open a new senior care community called The Bridges at Ankeny in August. The 146-residence community, located at 3510 N.W. Abilene Road off of North 36th Street, will include a 30-bed memory care neighborhood, 28-bed long-term care community and 42-bed skilled rehabilitation wing. Future living residences will include 30 assisted-living residences and 18 independent custom townhomes. The 13-acre community, which will be managed by Hawkeye Care Centers of Iowa, will feature an on-site therapy and wellness center, theater, doctor’s exam room, day spa and bistro. The community will generate more than 100 jobs and is expected to open Aug. 23.
