2-story office building on Ingersoll Avenue razed; bank building planned

WHAT: New Chase Bank building

BACKGROUND AND UPDATE: A two-story office building (photo at right) that had been a fixture along the north side of Ingersoll Avenue in Des Moines for 65 years has been torn down. A three-story building with a facade of glass and two tones of brick is planned on the parcel. The new building will be occupied by Chase Bank.

JP Morgan Chase Bank NA purchased the property in late March, paying $1.87 million for the nearly quarter-acre tract, Polk County real estate records show.

The 9,052-square-foot building that was razed had been occupied by Buyers Realty, now located at 4350 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.
