2022 Iowa Women’s Hall of Fame awardees announced

The honorees are:
- Elizabeth Bates Cowles, born in 1900, lived in Des Moines.
- Mary Richards, born in 1936, lives in Ames.
- Laurie Schipper, born in 1962, lives in Des Moines.
- Mary Swander, born in 1950, lives in Kalona.
The recipient of the Christine Wilson Medal for Equality and Justice is Ako Abdul-Samad. More information about each honoree can be found at the Iowa Department of Human Rights website. An induction ceremony will be held on Aug. 27 at 9:30 a.m. at the Des Moines Playhouse.
