The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of its fifth annual Reignite CommUNITY awards, recognizing nine individuals and organizations, including Mazahir Smith, Isaiah Poe, OneVoice DSM, Will Keeps, Val Veiock, Holmes Murphy, Professional Contrarian, the Beacon, and Lutheran Services in Iowa, for their outstanding contributions to the community. Selected from 39 applicants by a panel of judges, the honorees will be celebrated at a reception on Oct. 22 at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden. Registration for the event is open until Oct. 15. The event will also feature live entertainment, appetizers and a Unity Path for attendees to walk through.
