More than $310,000 was raised at the 2022 Central Iowa Heart Walk sponsored by the American Heart Association. The walk, which attracted more than 700 participants, was held in downtown Des Moines on April 30. The event marked the region’s first in-person Heart Walk since 2019, the year before the start of the pandemic. Money raised at the event is used to pay for research and raise awareness of heart disease  and strokes.
