Electro Management Corp. and Electrical Power Products Inc. (doing business as EP2) plan to add a 60,000-square-foot warehouse addition to their production and office facility at 4240 Army Post Road in Des Moines, according to city documents.

The addition to the 242,800-square-foot structure is valued at $5.9 million. Construction is expected to begin soon with completion by fall 2021.

The facility will be built from architectural tilt-up precast concrete panels, similar to the group’s existing building. Overhead loading dock doors are planned on the south side of the building, consistent with the design of the existing structure, according to city documents.

The city’s Urban Design Review Board this week approved the design of the structure as well as a $1.01 million financial assistance package that would expire in December 2035.
