Work continues to progress on the 33-story 515 Walnut Tower in downtown Des Moines. Vertical construction began with the elevated deck of the building beginning to take shape. The estimated cost of the project is $148 million, with completion expected in 2027. Once complete, its estimated assessed value will be more than $69.5 million. Developer Joe Teeling is working with Beal Derkenne Construction on the project. Andy Beal, one of the founders of Beal Derkenne, said in an email that level 2 has been poured and level 3 will be poured soon as the deck-to-deck construction cycle has begun. Photos by Drew Dau
