226 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentWest Des Moines city officials received the green light from the City Council this month to prepare a development agreement with a holding company considering development of a $9 million project that would include 90,000 square feet of office and retail space.
The development is proposed east of the Des Moines Area Community College campus on undeveloped ground bounded by Booneville Road on the north and Grand Avenue on the south.
The land is currently owned by an entity associated with the Krause Group, which owns the Kum & Go convenience store chain. A Kum & Go spokesperson said the company has owned the ground since 1999.

Galloway Holdings, operated by Jonathan Galloway, is proposing to construct three to four buildings on the west side of the property, West Des Moines city documents show. A convenience store would be constructed on the east side of the land, according to city documents. The Kum & Go spokesperson said the company doesn’t have immediate plans to construct a convenience store on the site.
Galloway Holdings is requesting $3.1 million in city assistance in the form of infrastructure, city documents show. When the project is completed, estimates show its assessed valuation could be at least $15 million.
A draft of the development agreement will be discussed by the West Des Moines City Council at a meeting this summer.
