Nine Iowa leaders shared 10 of their best ideas — both big and small — that could be applied to any organization. In a fast-paced discussion, each leader presented their top ideas and fielded questions from the audience. See each of their presentations below.
We've also compiled their ideas into a publication so you and colleagues can learn the best strategies for improving employee engagement, marketing more effectively and making a difference in the world through your work. We're sure these ideas will inspire you and will also spark more ideas down the road. Illustrations on the cover and throughout the publication were created by Des Moines artist Laura Palmer.

About the artist
This year's publication was brought to life by Laura Palmer's illustrations.
A lifelong Iowan who values the U.S. Postal Service and a thoughtfully handwritten note, Laura started XO-LP in 2009, producing whimsical illustrations made with markers and wit. In 2014, she went from full-time fundraiser to full-time illustrator, a dream she's had since creating her first handmade greeting card in 1988.
Laura has worked on hundreds of projects, including illustrations that appeared in Better Homes and Gardens magazine, a 50-foot mural in collaboration with Greenwood Elementary students, a water tower that looks over her hometown of Muscatine and her 5-year-old nephew's Valentine's Day cards.
