NAMI Iowa (National Alliance on Mental Illness) expects more than 175 mental health advocates from across the state at its annual conference on Friday in Des Moines. This year’s keynote speakers include Lyndsey Fennelly, a former Iowa State University women’s basketball player who was also drafted in the WNBA, who will speak about her journey with mental illness. Other speakers include Suzanne Robinson, assistant director of National Education Programs at NAMI national, and Dr. Amy Shriver, a pediatrician at UnityPoint Health – Blank Children’s Pediatric Clinic.
