Iowa beekeepers now have a local pathway for attaining “Master Beekeeping” certification through a program called Great Plains Master Beekeeping. Housed at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, Sheldon Brummel, Master Beekeeping Project coordinator, will introduce the program this weekend to beekeepers at a winter seminar in Grimes. Johnston Community Education will produce the first Iowa course for the GPMB program, Beekeeping 101, which begins the first week of February.
