The Des Moines Community Action Agency and Red Rock Area Community Action Programs will merge effective Thursday to form the IMPACT Community Action Partnership, the agencies announced. The combined agency will serve Boone, Jasper, Marion, Polk and Warren counties. The merger will allow the agency to provide a higher level of assistance to individuals and families in Central Iowa. Community action programs exist nationwide to provide critical support programs and guidance for people in need. Services include home energy and weatherization assistance, food support, disaster relief and other programs.
