Hubbell Realty Co. received special recognition today from the Iowa Finance Authority for a project that provides safe housing for victims of domestic violence, according to a release. The HousingIowa Special Needs Housing Development award was presented for Hubbell’s Meadowlark Place II Apartments in Grimes, which has 84 income-restricted apartments for victims of domestic violence. In addition, Anawim Housing provides support services, including counseling and a financial boot camp, that encourage people to break out of abusive relationships. Hubbell has nearly 600 income-based units in apartment communities throughout Central Iowa. Many of those communities have an emphasis on special needs living.
