Storage planned for Fridley’s downtown space

R.L. Fridley Theatres Inc. has purchased a Walnut Street property formerly occupied by Holm Graphic Services Inc. and plans to use the building as a storage facility. Founded by Robert Fridley in 1974, Fridley Theatres has its headquarters in a building it owns at 1321 Walnut St. Fridley, 94, said his company will make slight improvements to the newly acquired space at 1416 Walnut St. and use it to store items such as old theater seats and popcorn machines. Fridley Theatres paid $135,000 for the building and land, which have a combined assessed value of $468,400. The seller was Franklin Holm. Holm Graphic Services recently relocated to 601 S.W. Ninth St.
