The Iowa Economic Development Authority board has approved $500,000 in direct financial assistance as well as tax incentives to Thesis Chemistry LLC of Ohio to build a biorefinery in Nevada for the production of sustainable chemicals from a component of non-food agricultural biomass. The project is expected to create 130 jobs, of which 61 will be supported by state incentives. The board also approved tax incentives to create nine jobs at BoDeans Cone Co. in Le Mars and approved $150,000 in financial aid plus tax incentives to create three jobs and retain 17 jobs at Wacker Chemical Corp. in Eddyville.
