FirstHome program offers more assistance through Dec. 31
Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds today announced that up to $3,500 in down payment assistance is available to eligible home buyers who purchase their homes using the Iowa Finance Authority’s FirstHome program through the end of the year. That’s an increase of $1,000. FirstHome is a mortgage financing program available to home buyers. The Iowa Finance Authority issues tax-exempt mortgage revenue bonds to fund the program, and the interest rate is fixed for up to 30 years. For more information, click here.
