Reichardt named chairman emeritus of Holmes Murphy
J. Douglas Reichardt will become chairman emeritus of Holmes Murphy & Associates effective Jan. 1, as part of the organization’s planned leadership perpetuation strategy, the company announced today. No other leadership changes have been announced.
Reichardt joined Holmes Murphy Associates as a college intern in 1976, and has served as chairman of the organization since 1993. During his tenure, Holmes Murphy has grown into the 24th-largest risk management and insurance brokerage firm and the ninth-largest privately owned broker in the United States, according to Business Insurance magazine.
As chairman emeritus, Reichardt will support the growth of new business sales and client acquisition and retention. He will also continue to support Holmes Murphy in numerous community leadership roles.
“Doug’s leadership, talent and determination are inspirational and will continue to help us build an organization rich in leadership at all levels of the company,” said Jim Swift, Holmes Murphy’s president and CEO. “Doug’s effectiveness is illustrated by Holmes Murphy’s growth in the number of offices, employees, revenues, clients and industry ranking during his leadership tenure.”
