Mom’s Meals introduces renal diet plan
Ankeny-based home-food-supplier Mom’s Meals is introducing new menu items for patients on dialysis.
The company currently delivers “several thousand” meals to elderly people across the country, according to its website.
Mom’s Meals is introducing the Renal Nutrition Program for patients on dialysis, which gives customers 40 items to choose from, all based on guidelines from the National Kidney Foundation and a renal dietitian.
Rick Anderson, president of Mom’s Meals, said in a release that many people on dialysis struggle to get the right amount of potassium and phosphorous in their diet, which the new program hopes to alleviate.
