Shannon Cofield, the former president of United Way of Central Iowa, is leaving her position at Urbandale-based RMi, formerly known as Relationship Marketing Inc., after about six months.

Cofield, who was serving as the executive vice president at RMi, said she made the decision to resign because the company’s rebranding and reorganization efforts were taking more time than anticipated. “I recognized that my role was perhaps premature in the organizational development and therefore offered my resignation in late June, which they graciously accepted. RMi continues to believe in its ability to optimize multi-channel pharma promotion and I enjoyed working with the talented and creative individuals in that organization,” she said.

Her exit from the company was really about timing as she and RMi felt they were not utilizing her skills to the fullest extent, she said.

Cofield is currently looking at several opportunities and said she is interested in roles possibly in the foundation side of higher education.
