Des Moines to advertise statewide and in Omaha, Kansas City
The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau (GDMCVB) has launched a new summer advertising campaign on the theory that rising gasoline prices will lead to shorter distances for summer travel.
The bureau will run ads in June in Omaha and Kansas City, in July in Central Iowa and in July and August in eastern Iowa. The GDMCVB said it will air two 30-second television advertisements as well as multiple 15-second ads.
One 30-second ad is geared toward families, and the other is geared toward couples. The 15-second ads focus on specific attractions, including Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, Adventureland, Homemakers Furniture and the Iowa Speedway.
