Economist: Don’t expect quick recovery for construction
Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. (ABC) Chief Economist Anirban Basu said yesterday that construction industry recovery could be two years away.
Basu said that just because the country is in a period of recovery does not mean that all segments of the economy are doing well, and that the hardest-hit sector is construction. Basu noted that the construction industry has expanded over the past four months, but is not expected to provide a significant amount of employment in the months ahead.
